Story

On 17th April 2016 I shall be "running" the Lincoln 10k in memory of my pa, Neil Flewers to raise money for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation! My pa lost his fight with lung cancer on August 12th 2015 after being diagnosed on June 2nd, he was just 54 years old. This is a cruel illness that is often diagnosed too late to give much hope to families or much time with those they love. I promised pa that I would do the 10k, so please please sponsor me :-)

It's done!!!!

I very genuinely thought I would never be able to achieve 10k, but I blooming did it!!!!! I cannot thank you all enough for your donations and support. I am totally speechless by the total you have raised for this wonderful charity!!! I was thinking about Pa the whole way around the course, thinking about how I was surrounded by people but felt lonely and how lonely he must have felt despite us all around him. I hurt and ached but knew that Pa had been through worse and that others and going through worse. It makes the pain, exhaustion and emotional discomfort all worth while. I still hate running...... I just hate lung cancer more. xxxxxxxxxxx

The Playlist

8th January 2016
So as meatloaf came in the radio and I sang along to a song for the first time in months, I considered how music brig back emotions and situations. I decided to create a play list of music my pa liked and that remind me of him. So each week I shall add a song to my play list and share it on Facebook. Hopefully it will share the journey, share memories of my pa, make a few smiles (and maybe okay likely tears), and maybe people will donate a few quid! :-)
